Epirb for the Offshore Catamaran

EPIRBS are the final safety net if all else fails. You should do everything in your power to make sure you never have to use it. There is a danger in today's world of always calling for help if something goes wrong. We have to take the responsibiltiy for our sea-going adventures and not rely on some one to save us.

406 mhz EPIRB (Class B) is considered best choice as it it allows relative fast fix (40 minutes) by the MCC's (Mission Control Centers). Some 406 EPIRBS have a built-in GPS receiver which allows greater search accuracy. All EPRIBS have a unique identification number and so it is mandatory that you register your unit so that the authorities n know who they are searching for nad what type of vessel (you are in or were in!).
